Today’s word: Thersitical (adj) Loud-mouthed or foul-mouthed The Sentence: The vampire opted to not consume the thersitical individual; he had old-fashioned sensibilities and he didn’t eat what he considered junk food.
I’m so happy! My English teacher is letting me do a word of the day for the class. Today’s word: Glossolalia (n) Incomprehensible speech uttered from a state of religious fervor or trance. And a sentence: The priest, scarred by the vampire attack, muttered glossolalia with wild eyes.
Today’s word: Hircine (adj) Resembling or smelling like a goat. Also: Lustful. Let’s assume, in the context of modern vampires, the latter will be the use. And the sentence! The hircine vampire, hungering for blood, approached his prey with measured steps and a wicked smile.
Today’s word is: Grume (noun) A thick coating, esp. a blood clot. And the sentence! The fang marks from the previous week were aching and covered by a thick, hard grume.
Today’s word is: Inanition (n) Emptiness, the state of being empty When all his Dolce & Gabbana clothes were destroyed, the vampire felt as though there would never be anything again but inanition.
Here’s a word that I love: Meable (adj.) Easily penetrable. The vampire’s defenses were meable. He had, after all, spent all his money on clothes.
And today’s word is: Invidious: (adj.) Provoking envy or ill will. The vampire’s snazzy, invidious clothes were the primary reason the villagers had decided to come stake him.
Today’s word is: Cyrenaic (adj.) Hedonistic, pertaining to hedonism. Sentence: Despite the reputation vampire’s have for being either moody or cyrenaic, the vampire who worked at the grocery store was neither. He was just…normal.
