Super easy (and Delicious!) Chocolate Cake!

I’ve made this recipe quite a few times, and it’s recieved great reviews each time. Not from Epicurious for once! It’s really good and easy, plus it’s been described as “Coma-inducing”. In a good way. Ghiradelli Grand Fudge Cake I suggest puree-ing raspberries and spreading them between the layers. Chocolate and raspberries…yum!

The Land Of Birthday Cakes

It seems that I am becoming the go-to source for birthday cakes. I’m glad, actually. I love making cakes because they are a challenge and so much harder to make than cookies, brownies or cupcakes. (Usually. Some cookies, cupcakes, and brownies can be scary. Seriously.) A couple months ago I made Anne a birthday cake. [...]

Muffins For When You Have NOTHING in the House

Before theater class one Saturday, I wanted muffins. Sweet, delicious, warm muffins. So, I went to my favorite place besides Barnes and Noble, my House, and Piven (my theater school)…Epicurious! Anyway, I knew we had cinnamon, nutmeg, at least half a stick of butter and other such staples, so I asked for cinnamon muffins, and [...]

Who wants to help me reach my Academic Goal, Cont’d

All of you have been awesome, commenting your favorite inventions. I didn’t even have to use any of my imaginary friends. But now, a new challenge awaits: all there is to do this time is say nice things about the refrigerator. I have picked that out of my inventions for two reasons: first, I don’t [...]

101 Things #4

10. Write a letter to your future self This one was inspired by this year’s Language arts teacher. She had me write a letter to my self about goals and school and everything, but I ended up loving the exercise and pouring my soul into it. I loved it and will post my letter if [...]

101 things #3

7. Clean your entire house at a leisurely pace So often cleaning house is in preparation for something: a visitor, an event. But cleaning is kind of therapeutic if you do it to please nobody but yourself. It doesn’t have to be a chore. After you’re done and everything is sparkling with cleanliness, then you [...]

Baking is Hazardous: proceed with extreme Caution

Joseph (Teh Anime Critic) says that cooking is an art and baking is a science. He is so right. I follow my recipes to the letter and they turn out well. Mostly. But despite the fact that I’ve been baking since my mom thought I wouldn’t hurt myself (and I’m not sure she completely trusts [...]

Alinea: umm…Let’s see if I can even attempt to describe it right

Alinea was, quite simply, indescribable. I’m not even going to try to describe each course, you all will simply have to go there yourself. The amazement factors in when you think, not only of the food, but the care put into every aspect of your experience. The taste was unbelievable, of course, but there’s so [...]

Life is Short: 101 things to do before you die

It always occurs to me whenever someone dies in a book that maybe they didn’t do everything they would have liked. Or, when a person is a ghost, and they talk about all the things they wish had happened in their human life. Or when a person is about to die and they suddenly realize [...]

Delicious Cake for Coffee- and Choco-holic that lurks in most bloggers

I made this cake with my friend who came from florida to visit recently. As for the title, well, however much many people like to deny it, we love chocolate. It’s human nature. What’s better than chocolate? Coffee and chocolate. So, for those who love to bake, or who want to suck up to someone, [...]
