Life is Short:101 things #2

4. Start a blog, a journal, or a diary

This is one that is sooooo important. Having a blog is really cool because you can interact with people around the world and they can tell you what they think of your blog. But not everyone is as talkative as me, and maybe theydon’t want to share their every thought. That’s absolutely great. Start a diary and release your emotionson paper. BeforeĀ  my blog I did that, and I look back now and I think, “What was I so upset about?” A lot of times, writing something down will help you come to terms with it, or to remember it if it’s something amazing, or nice, or funny. The difference for me between a diary and a journal is that you sometimes share your journal entries with friends, family, teachers, etc. With a blog, you can’t exactly pick and choose, but with a journal, you can share it and discuss it with as many or few people as you want.

5. Lie in bed all day and read

Everyone needs to relax sometimes and not allow their busy lives to encroach on them at all. And what better way to forget your life than to immerse your self in someone elses? I won’t say that you have to read a certain genre, because everyone has different tastes, but might I suggest fantasy? If you’re reading biographies of dead presidents all day, then I imagine you’ll be so bored that you’ll grow a newfound appriciation for phone conferences, or spreadsheets, or neurosurgury, or taking care of screaming infants. Which might be a good thing, but not necessarily the purpose of this excercise.

6. Dress up for halloween, even if you’re far too old

I don’t suppose that being 13 is too old for trick or treating, but a lot of people said that I was. I did it anyway. Halloween brings back the whimsical, childish side of us and dressing up as something else is intriguing. Fueled by the magic of the night, and by an overdose of fun sized chocolate bars, children and adults can both have fun. It’s just a matter of embracing the holiday.

More things on later posts. For now, let them eat…chocolate?

Be up at midnight and sit outside and listen to the crickets, the wind, and the leaves.

Not only dress up for Halloween but go all out with decorating and having a great fun whimsical adventure

And laying in bed and reading all day is second only to relaxing in a good hot bath undisturbed with a great book and endless supply of hot water.

    Great Post RJ,

    Love you
