First, Halfway To the Grave. Now, Once Bitten Twice Shy by Jennifer Rardin. In Halfway to the Grave, Bones the Bounty Hunter has Cat as his assistant who can sense vampires because she’s half-vampire herself. So along comes this book about a CIA agent who is working with an attractive, to say the least, and ancient vampire. I loved both books. Who else is sensing a trend? Well, here’s the basics of this fantabulous, not at all fairy cake-y book.

Jaz Parks is the assistant to Vayl, a vampire. In this thrilling fantasy novel, they have to take out a corrupt plastic surgeon who consorts with one of the most dangerous terrorism groups in the country. Normally, a case like this would be simple, but when Vayl and Jaz discover that a plague that will wipe out countless lives and deliver the earth to the Surgeon’s clutches, the case takes on a whole new dimension. Due to being a Sensitive, Jaz can scent out vampires, but will that be enough?

I would give this book a 9 on the scale. I adored it, and I bet many other people will, too.
