Build-A-Bears and Birthdays
Last night, Liz celebrated her birthday by taking us all and our friends who are in town, to the Build-A-bear at Navy Pier. I carefully picked every part of my bear: The sound, the outfit, the accesories. Here’s how it turned out:
Constantine, a panda who roars ferociously when his top left paw is squeezed, wears a matador costume. A black jacket with gold piping surrounds a black waistcoat. Black pants with gold down each side which end with Con’s soft black socks and polished black dress shoes make up the lower half of his body. Upon his fluffy black and white head rests a black hat, and in his paw is a red piece of cloth.
There was only one thing that was unsatisfying. On the birth certificate, you can pick the month and day, but not the year. How can I have an ancient vampire Build A Bear if it was “born” in 2009? That ticked me off.
After our lovely trip to the Build A Bear, which ended with an incident over Con’s socks, we rode the Waveslinger, which is one of those swinging chairs rides, over and over. It was wonderful. Then Anne bought me my own funnel cake, which I couldn’t finish, it was so big. Con had something to eat, too. He drank some of everyone in our parties blood. He’s a very neat eater: he didn’t get any on his snowy white muzzle, and he didn’t leave a mark on his victims! Now that’s talent.

Wait. Her birthday isn’t for another MONTH and a week. Jenn and I KNOW that August women birthdays last a long time but over a month? hmph.

I’m considering it a down-payment on her birthday. How many times do best friends from out of town come to visit?

Very true.
