The coolest people on earth
If you read my “about” page, you heard me say (write, whatever) that my house is filled with bloggers. Now, I’m absolutely certain that everyone thinks their mom is the most awesome (except for Janie from Wake by Lisa Mcmann. Such a cool book, my gosh.) but mine really is. She blogs on retro-food. A word of warning, though. If you visit her blog, DO NOT make (and eat, that is. Feed it to your enemies!) the asparagus jello. My family has a running joke about that…Anyway, just. don’t. eat. it. I’m saying this for your sake!
My mom’s a really good blogger though. At the blogher convention that is held every year, twenty people are selected to give a Keynotes speech, which means they read aloud a post that was selected as the best by a panel of three judges (like American idol before Kara came.) So, can you guess who’s one for this year? My very own mom! It’s like living in a house with Adam Lambert or Danny Gokey or something! She’s amazing! I even asked if she would autograph my book, but she laughed at me.
Another awesome person: my mom’s partner, Denise. She blogs on BlogHer, and she just loves my cockatiel Lyra. (I recently found out that Lyra is male. I named him after the main character of The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. Another incredibly cool book. I thought he was female, but I can’t rename him now, lest I give him an identity crisis.) She actually hates Lyra, but still. Love and hate are both passionate emotions, right? Denise is too cool for me to put into words, so let me suffice to say that if I twittered, I would totally follow her.
My dad is incredibly cool as well. He is supportive, caring, hard-working, an awesome chef… to those of you who are Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, he seems kind of like Ted from season two, but less insidious. ( Click the link to watch the episode on Hulu) He really cares about his children, and always finds time for us. As with my mom, I can’t talk about him without getting hideously sappy.
Finally, I will mention my 7th grade language arts teacher. She knows who she is. She has been the best teacher I have ever had. Enough said.
Now I bet, you’re all wondering, Why am I talking about my favorite people? Where are the Book reviews? Where are the interviews? Don’t worry, this post is just a reference, and a subtle hint at books you should read (re-read all the paratheses, you’ll see.). I might mention these people again, so you should know who they are.

Actually, 20 people are chosen to read their blogs at the Community Keynote but it’s still a very cool thing.

My 16 year old niece reckons I’m the coolest person she knows, so there’s a symmetry, there. But I agree, your mom and Denise are pretty cool!
We’ve met, just the once – but I’ll forgive you for not remembering!
