Books first. Then food. Then clothes.

My vampire ration: warning, spoilers to many vampire novels inside!

Denise’s daughter and her daughter’s husband have come to visit, and I am very eager to catch up with what has happened recently. Therefore, I start to talk about my favorite subject (besides books, that is.), vampires. After just 30 minutes of compare and contrast Bill Compton and Eric Northman, my mom’s had enough. At my objection to my spiel being cut short, she mercilessly says: “Go blog about it”. Generally, she lets me talk forĀ  much longer, or even joins the conversation. Not today. Could it be that she is shamed by my fascination? Perhaps. That is beside the point though. I have to finish my vampire spiel, it is necessary to my very survival. I am not being at all meloldramatic. Really.

Edward Cullen vs. Eric Northman

*ding ding*

Here is the running commentary on Edward vs. Eric. Eric is more mysterious and actually has a job rather than relying on his vampire sire to pay for all his Trueblood. Ouch! Strike one against Edward! The Vampires return to their corners and Edward seems to be planning his retaliation. Edward parries with the fact that Sookie gets beaten up a whole lot, whereas Bella’s injuries are generally self-inflicted. Eric retaliates with a single name: “James”, but still he loses the match. Round three: Whoever wins this round gets to progress to the next opponent. The vampires take their stances and right away Eric brings up the point that he and Sookie are closer because of their blood bond than Edward and Bella would ever be. Edward takes the full brunt ofthe blow and it seems that he is down for the count! Eric is this battles winner!

Next time: Eric vs. Bones. Who will win?

  1. Mom Says:

Wait.First-most of us were still eating breakfast. Second: no one other than three of us have read the books. Your siblings were done listening to the monologue…and poor husband. He was overwhelmed by sparkle.

  2. Denise Says:

LOL My dear, you have so much more to share than simply turning every F2F into a vampire story. Really, you do. Trust me, I’m always right – remember? :-)
